| Bath | 1. Bath
can be given daily. Use warm water. 2. Use a mild baby soap Do not use dal floor or milk. |
| Oil | 1. Oil massage
done gently is good for baby. Do it twice a day. 2. Use non-coloured & non-perfumed oil. 3. Do not put oil in nose, ears, navel etc. |
| Feeding | Give only
breast feeding. Whenever baby demands. Do not give any top feeding or medications without consulting a doctor Water is not required. . Gripe water, gooty, herbal medications can be harmful and serve no useful purpose. |
| Stools and Urine | Loose stools as
well as constipation are normal variations. No treatment is required All babies may cry while passing urine or stools and this does not mean ill health. |
| Diapers | Use only while going out. Can cause severe rash. |
| Rash | 1. Normally due
to over clothing. 2. Use light white cotton clothes. 3. Use talcum powder. |
| Talcum powder | Use in small
quantity. Baby should not inhale. Use after bath and night. Use to protect against diaper rash. |
| Navel | Clean with
spirit twice a day during first few days. Do not apply oil. |
| Do not give any medications with out your doctor's advise. | |
| Breast milk is till the best food available for babies. | |
